The 112th Clifton was back with big crowds and lots of support both in the ring and out over the three days of the beloved event.

“We weren’t able to run one last year due to the Covid so we were pretty excited to have one this year and give something to the community,” Show Secretary Adele Saville explained.

“We haven’t had too many events in this area in the past 16 months.

“And the community came out in force, we probably had one of the bigger crowds we’ve had in many, many years it was well supported. It was very exciting.”

She people were just excited to have the show back again and came out in force to see the cattle, horses, rodeo on Saturday night.

“I guess they just came to see the show in general,” Adele said.

“The show has been going for a while so when you miss one it’s pretty disappointing.

“We didn’t really do anything new this year, I guess we were not wanting to have something new on the off chance that Covid may hit again so we just wanted to go with our sections we were familiar with and not bring in any new things.

“Though we did have sheep dog trials back, which we haven’t had for a few years and we also had our championship dog show which we hadn’t run for probably three years. Our dog show we had over 400 entries, we thought it was pretty amazing. The sheep dog trials started Friday morning at 7am and they finished up at midday on Sunday.”
