St Mark’s Anglican Parish Hall is embracing all things art this Jumper and Jazz in July Festival.

Transforming into a pop-up gallery from Friday 21 to Sunday 23, the heritage hall will display over 120 artworks created by the community. The artists are of all ages, experiences, or emerging, art@st.marks is allowing space for them to showcase their talents and possibly get a sale.

The artworks are of various mediums with only one requirement, they must be able to be hung on the walls. Expect mixed media such as acrylic, watercolour, still life, coloured pencils, and photography.

Returning for its 11th year, Secretary of St. Marks, Sue Nalder says they always encourage new artists to showcase their work so every year is a different experience.

“I am constantly amazed by the unattained incredible talent that we have in our region, it is an amazing display,” Sue said.

To accompany the incredible art will be an onsite Art Café that will be serving morning teas, lunches, and afternoon teas provided by the ladies of St. Marks Women’s Guild, who are renowned country bakers.

Take home an artwork or the Parish Craft Group runs a homemade craft store which will be selling various winter warmers like scarves and beanies as well as little toys and gift items.

The evening of Friday 21 from 6 pm is the official opening twilight event which will have live jazz entertainment, guest appearances from Mary Finley, the director of the Stanford regional art gallery, and an opportunity to meet the artist in the exhibition.

“We’ve had many good encounters in previous years where someone has actually purchased one of the artworks and then get to meet the artists and hear the backstory of the work which is a satisfying moment for the purchaser and the artist,” Sue said.

This Twilight event is $15 entry and included hot and cold figure food as well as one free drink.

St. Mark’s Hall will be open for free entry over the three day period, for more information go to the 2023 Jumper and Jazz program.
