Grass fire ‘no threat to property’

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews and landholders are continuing to monitor a grass fire burning in inaccessible land near Condamine River Road at Killarney.

QFES say the fire broke out last week and is posing no threat to property at this time.

“This fire is expected to burn for several days,” a statement released today, Tuesday 21 August, said.

“Residents may be affected by smoke.

“Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.

“Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.

“If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.”
