Drug drivers

On Tuesday 16 August at 1.30pm, a 32-year-old Warwick male was found drug driving on Wallace Street and will appear in court next month.

Two days later at 1.40pm, a 26-year-old Warwick female was found drug driving on Wantley Street.

Furthermore, on Saturday at 8.30am, a 17-year-old individual from Canning Creek was pulled over on Wood Street for drug driving and will appear in court in September.

The following day, a 22-year-old Warwick male was found driving with relevant drug in system at 7.15pm on Albion Street.

He will appear in court in October.

Break and enter

Between 4 and 16 August, a break and enter of a Glenvale Road property near Leslie Dam occurred.

The offender broke into two sheds and took a number of rifles from a gun safe, which was reported by the resident on 17 August.

A quantity of personal items including jewellery and clothing were also stolen.

No persons were located at the building during the incident and detectives are investigating the matter.

Possession of dangerous drugs

At 11am on 17 August, police went to a Willi Street residence and located a male in possession of sealed bags containing a white crystal substance and a glass pipe.

The 52-year-old Warwick male was subsequently charged with possession of a dangerous drug and utensil and will appear in court on 19 September.

Coles theft

At midday on 18 August, a 31-year-old Warwick male was located by police leaving Coles at Rose City Shoppingworld after complaints from staff indicated a theft.

The offender had stolen seafood from the deli and was charged with stealing as a result.

When arrested by police, he was found possessing a pocket knife and was also charged with having a dangerous item in a public place.

He was held in custody until appearing in court last week, being sentenced to three months in prison with immediate parole.

Break-in artist charged

At 11am on Wednesday 17 August, police located a male who was charged with a string of offences committed over the last few months.

This included seven break and enters, arson of a motor vehicle, two counts of stealing, two unlawful uses of a motor vehicle, and three breaches of bail.

Some of these crimes included a Glengallen Piggery break in on 21 June, an Allora Hardware break in on 20 June, and unlawful motor vehicle use on 9 June.

He will remain in custody until court on 7 September.

Victoria Street crash

At 6pm on August 15 on the corner of Palmerin and Victoria Streets, a Toyota Land Cruiser Station Wagon and a Holden Sedan had an accident upon entering a roundabout.

The driver of the Toyota was travelling East on Victoria Street and failed to give way.

As a result, the car rolled over and the 71-year-old male driver was trapped for some time and therefore taken to Warwick Hospital for observation.

He was given notice for failing to give way on a roundabout.

The other vehicle, driven by a 23-year-old Warwick female, suffered some soreness.

Servo attempted break-in

Between 9pm on Sunday and 5am on Monday morning, an individual attempted to break into the Helene Street United Service Station.

The offender broke a glass door at the shopfront but failed to gain entry.
