Draw in successive weeks

Gremlins men's player Tyler Sargeant with president Roger O'Brien.

It was a mixed weekend for the Stanthorpe Gremlins in the round three Border Rugby League games at Texas on Saturday with their women’s team losing 30-4 while the men recorded their second draw in a row.

“The men drew for the second week in a row, 24-all this time,” according to Gremlins Roger O’Brien.

“The week before we played McIntyre and it was 20-all and this weekend it was 24-all against Texas. It’s been really good football for the whole competition. Really competitive games.

“We have a bye this weekend, it’s a split round, I think it’s the Goondiwindi show so they split the round.

“But its all going well for us, we have good numbers in the men’s and ladies still. The competition is looking good, very competitive.

“Our players player for our men’s this week was our halfback Tyler Sergeant and the ladies players player was fullback Caitlin Debnam.”

He said the men’s game was great watch.

“It was very competitive, it was try for try, neither side could get away,” O’Brien said.

“After the bye we have another away game out to Bogabilla to McIntyre.”

While the seniors were in Texas, the juniors made the trip to Warwick this weekend they are back at home in Stanthorpe against MIT.
