They’ve got good jeans

THE concept of giving items a new lease on life, or repurposing, isn’t new.
Some older generations were, by necessity or lifestyle, very good at it. But in recent generations the art of repurposing has been lost to a great extenet.
Warwick State High’s Year 10 textile class was asked to repurpose a pair of old denim jeans.
The students had to take the jeans from their original purpose and through a creative design process change them into something new, and with a different purpose.
Year 10 home economics students were also challenged to make a Christmas themed mini-quilt that referenced the process of historic quilt-making.
The children’s works are on display at Just Because Gifts and Flowers in Palmerin St, Warwick.
