Celtic music wafts through

Rachel and Mark Davy (Whiskey Remorse) playing at St Patrick’s Day Lunch and Listen.

CELTIC music was the order of the day for the Warwick Arts Council’s St Patrick Day lunch at the Warwick Hotel on Sunday.
Members and friends enjoyed Whiskey Remorse (Rachel and Mark Davy), and Phil Haxen and Jerry Hunt, all from Toowoomba; and local performers Bernadine Bradshaw, Jill Hulme and the East St Singers, Heather Hibbitt, Gabrielle Laws, and Sue York.
The audience also had opportunities to sing, use their percussion skills, dance; and of course pull out all the green in their wardrobes.
This year, Warwick Arts Council wants to continue to highlight local and regional artists at these Lunch and Listens, while also having occasional arts groups from farther afield at bigger venues.
They are also interested in developing other areas including maybe a movie group this year, along with a long established book club.
So join, come along and give us your ideas. Cost is $25 per family and $20 single membership gives you year-long concessions and communication; and of course input into what arts events you would like in Warwick. Phone Barbara: 0408 873 334 or 4664 1530 or email georgejaeggli@gmail.com
The next event is “Everything Must go”, a comedy play by Rachel Leary on Sunday 3 May (time to be confirmed) at the Vijaydev Yogendra Auditorium, Warwick.
