NUMBERS were down but spirits were high at the Warwick Easter Fair on Saturday as visitors enjoyed local music, food and shopping.
The rain forced some stalls to pack up early, but not even the rainy weather could deter locals from attending the annual market.
Around 80 market stalls offered shoppers a wide range of goods including plants, confectionary, clothing, handmade craft and crystals.
The Cancer Council ran a food stall fund-raiser and money was also raised for community disaster relief.
Market-goers enjoyed music from Emma Bell, Terry Arnold and the Vellacott Trio, and there was an animal nursery and a children’s program for children.
Event co-ordinator Rob Hamilton said it was great to see people attend despite the downpours.
“For me, the highlight was the people who came to listen to performances in the park,” he said.
“It was pouring, but people still came down to enjoy the live music. That’s a pretty special level of support I think.”
Rob said that while it was disappointing that the weather had such an impact on the event, all who attended had a great weekend.
“People were there in their raincoats and with their umbrellas – even Bugs Bunny was wearing a wetsuit.
“We just made the best of it.”
