THE Lions Club of Warwick recently attended a special 25th anniversary convention and celebrated the life of a special young man.
Angus Bowles is young boy from Maryvale and he was awarded the Children of Courage medal and certificate at the annual Lions District 201Q1 Convention held at Stanthorpe Civic Centre.
Angus is a sufferer of Pallister Hall Syndrome and recently travelled to the United States with his parents to seek further treatment. The trip and travel expenses were partly funded and supported by the Warwick Lions Club.
Club president Con Lo Giudice nominated Angus, who attended the event with his parents Phil and Sonya.
Mr Lo Giudice said it was great to get all the Lions club members in one place and celebrate the medal together as an organisation.
“The Saturday Silver Anniversary Dinner and Ball was the highlight to get all the Lions, Lioness and Leos members in one place to symbolise this milestone in recognition of the hard work District 201Q1 have put in of course with the help of all Lions clubs who made official No1 District in the Multiple District of Australia,” he said.
