AGRICULTURE, Business and Community are council candidate Sue Johnson’s passions.
“After university I worked at the UQ Department of Parasitology before marrying, then living and working in agricultural communities worldwide,” she said.
“I have been associated with Southern Downs since 1990 and since 1997 have lived, worked, run successful businesses and involved myself in community service here.
“I now regularly observe council meetings and have gained sufficient understanding of the crucial attributes to be a good councillor.”
She said she had a desire to see the community flourish.
“Like most people, I am quite vocal in my criticism of council and councillors,” she said.
“I read something that really resonated with me and is the reason I am standing for council: You have no right to complain unless you are prepared to do something about it.“
