KILLARNEY’S Beryl Rosser is the July winner of the Southern Downs Regional Council’s MY SDRC App promotion.
Mayor, Cr Tracy Dobie, congratulated Beryl as she presented her with a compost bin, one of the sustainable living prizes on offer in the promotion that runs until the end of the year.
Beryl thanked the mayor and said she was looking forward to making good use of the compost in her garden.
“I have a compost bin that I already use but I needed another one!” she said.
Cr Dobie said that it had been encouraging to meet so many residents who took recycling seriously and helped reduce the amount of waste that went to landfill.
“It’s so good to hear about the residents out there doing their part for our community.
“Composting is a great way to help us minimise waste,” she said.
With the promotion running until 9 December, Cr Dobie encouraged residents to download the app and enter.
To be eligible simply download the app, submit a request by selecting the “MY SDRC App Promo 2-2016” category, and ensure you complete all name and contact details.
The free app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store (Android users) or the App Store (Apple users).
