Local hero needed to rival Toowoomba

By JONATHON HOWARD

THE hunt is on for the next phone book front cover photo and Warwick and Stanthorpe are up against long-running winner Toowoomba for the hot spot.

Sensis wants nominations from local inspirational people to feature on the cover of next year’s Yellow Pages and White Pages.
Toowoomba locals have landed the front page for the past three editions including the most recent edition 2013-’14, which featured Dr Denis Lennox.
The 2014-’15 cover theme is Inspiring Others to Achieve, which honours the mentors, role models, coaches and teachers who go above and beyond to help others.
Eligible towns include Toowoomba, Warwick, Stanthorpe, Goondiwindi, Crows Nest and surrounding towns.
White Pages Product Manager Sarah Simpson said unsung heroes could be a fantastic teacher, a dedicated sports coach, an inspiring disability advocate, or people who broke down barriers.
“They’re probably very humble people, but they deserve recognition for their efforts in creating an environment that encourages and rewards hard work and determination, and promotes the pursuit of excellence.
“Their selfless efforts are the reason behind the success of others – no matter how big or small that success might be.”
People can nominate their local hero by visiting www.whitepagescommunity.com.au or send an email to coversprogram@sensis.com.au
