Playgroup welcomes $3000 funding boost

St Mark’s Community Playgroup held a celebratory morning tea in Warwick last week after receiving nearly $3000 in funding.
The Queensland Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund provided a grant of $2954 to the playgroup to install a new fence in June this year.
Elaine and Don Stewart of St Mark’s Anglican Church installed the fence.
“Play is fundamental for children in establishing their identity, learning new skills and emotions and playgroup is a great way of assisting children to prepare for school and the grant makes the playgroup experience even more worthwhile,” Playgroup Queensland chief executive officer Jennifer Mobbs said.
Anita Cray of St Mark’s Community Playgroup was thrilled with the new fence.
“This grant is a wonderful contribution to making our playgroup a great experience for families and we would welcome more families to our group,” she said.
To join or start your own playgroup, contact Playgroup Queensland on 1800 171 882.
