de Vito headlines Carols in the Park

Australia’s Got Talent fans have the chance to hear 2011 finalist David de Vito live at this year’s Carols in the Park.
After endearing himself to a national audience, organiser Tracy Vellacott is pleased that the big voice of the big man will again wow the Carols audience.
“David won the hearts of Warwick audiences during his 2007 and 2009 Carols performances so I’m hoping that they and all his new fans from this year’s season of Australia’s Got Talent will be out in force to support him on this very special night,” Mrs Vellacott said.
“After such a successful year, it would be a shame if Warwick audiences could not add their personal accolades to that of Australia’s,” she said.
According to Mrs Vellacott, David’s affable nature, which was clearly evident during his television performances, coupled with his commanding voice, have signalled the beauty of opera to a younger audience.
“He’s made opera cool and it’s wonderful to see young people connecting and awakening their imagination through his performances,” she said.
With a voice he describes himself as a ‘dramatic tenor’, David was trained in classical piano and discovered by examiners to have a talent for singing in ‘perfect pitch’ at a very young age.
David will join with a host of local performers for a two-and-a-half hour program of traditional and contemporary Carols.
Crowd favourites Erin Hilton, Melissa Williams, Jenny McDonald and Southern Downs Regional Deputy Mayor Peter Blundell will be joined by new talent, along with a mass choir conducted by local music teacher, Bruce Eddihausen.
Carols in the Park will be held at the Leslie Park Band Rotunda (Palmerin Street) on Sunday, December 18.
Entertainment kicks off at 5.30pm, with carols to start at 6.30pm.
