What’s all this about mainly music?

Mainly music is a program designed in New Zealand and run through church groups in many countries throughout the world.
It provides an opportunity for families of pre-schoolers to come together to have fun with music, play, share morning tea and chat over one-and-a-half hours.
The Warwick-Killarney Uniting Church started a mainly music group in May 2009 and it has been so well supported that it will operate in two sessions in 2012 from February 9 – session one starting at 9.15am and session two at 10.15am – with an overlap of combined morning tea.
The first day’s program will start at 9.30am on Thursday, February 2, and parents will be able to nominate which session they would like to attend.
Twenty places are available per session, with three vouchers per term for families in excess of the first 20 to register.
The cost is $4 per family and morning tea is provided for children and adults.
Throughout the year special events are celebrated and the mainly music team is keen to get to know all our families to nurture and provide support in both a social and spiritual way. Extended families are welcome; on occasions they have had four generations of the one family present.
So that’s what mainly music is all about. It’s not a choir group – it’s not a music theory group. It’s a group that children and parents seem to really value as a very worthwhile activity in their family life and they all enjoy being part of it.
