Community Garden on display

At the last gathering of the Border Landcare Organic Group (BLOG), David Gourlay from SoiLife Products gave a presentation on how to get the best out of your soil with fermented conditioners for soil and compost.
He spoke about different biological actions in soils and cost effective biological farming practices.
He also showed how neem-based products can successfully treat downy and powdery mildew.
After lunch there was a farm walk at the nearby sustainably run Bents Road vineyard.
This month’s event will be at the Stanthorpe Community Garden in the railway grounds at the top of Railway Street.
The program will start with morning tea at 10am Saturday. There will be talks and demonstrations and wonderful opportunities to learn about growing vegetables.
This will be followed by lunch about 12.30pm.
Bring a chair and lunch or morning tea to share, cup and plate, as well as a hat.
Remember also to bring along any excess produce or plants for the Bring and Buy stall. Visitors are most welcome.
Information on BLOG activities can be found at www.granitenet.com.au/groups/environment/blog
