Last week we published a story with updates on the future of Warwick CBD’s road signage.

Here’s what some of our Facebook readers had to say about our breaking story sharing the news…

Paul Jones: Driving at 40km/h in a high pedestrian zone is a recipe for disaster. Good to see most Warwick drivers going much slower than that through this area.

Emma Lenz: People need to be patient. There’s not much traffic in town so pedestrians really need to wait and cross when there’s no cars or when they’re 100 per cent sure a car has stopped for them. Pedestrians are the ones who will get hurt if they gamble on cars stopping when everything is so uncertain and everyone is following different rules.

Valerie Arthy: I will continue to give way to pedestrians, especially Aged and with Children.

Michelle Eastwell: An accident waiting to happen with signs, no signs, signs, no signs.

Julie Donovan: The crossings near the roundabouts should be pedestrians give way to cars and not just walk out in front of them and expect them to stop when you then block up the roundabout. Not only that if you’re watching the cars and giving way it’s much harder to watch for people waddling out onto the road in front of you as you’re turning the corner.

Renee Le Bherz Wilson: Can’t people just exercise common courtesy and be responsible. Thinking for ourselves and others logically.

Colin Williamson: Not rocket science people. Not a crossing, thus I won’t be stopping. We don’t see cars and trucks stopping on a highway because some jo blo wants to walk across it. How is this any different. It’s a road. As a pedestrian use ya flamin brains.

Ray Black: No signage at all for last few weeks. Nobody knows what the go is anymore.

Guy Sugden: The crossings have been operating for a number of years without any problems then someone decides it’s not safe, idiots gone mad with safety issues.

Tim Scheele: This is a perfect demonstration of how stupid our council is……One sign says “Blind people cross here”……the next one says “pedestrians must give way to vehicles”…..
