Community vision for Slade continues to gain momentum

More than 90 people supported the community vision for Slade Campus on Sunday, so much so that residents have taken on committee roles and decisions were made to incorporate the body and put in an expression of interest for the purchase of Slade Campus.
Local campaigner Margaret McKinnon, who is now the vice-president of Slade Lives Again Development for Everyone (SLADE), received a round of applause for her tireless efforts to save Slade Campus from bulldozers.
Many community members spoke on the varied use of Slade now and what could possibly be achieved in the future. A civic centre is a part of the community’s vision.
A website for the group is also underway.
If you would like input into the expression of interest, which closes this Wednesday, contact president Ian Perkins on 0408 059 377.
The next meeting of Slade Lives Again Development for Everyone will be held at 5pm on Sunday, March 20, at Slade Hall.
