Planning for Jumpers and Jazz heats up

Unique fire drums will heat up the night at the Killarney Bonfire Night.
Metalworkers, amateur and professional, are invited to create a fire drum for the Killarney Bonfire Night on Saturday, July 21. Fire drums are lit for display and the best fire drums will win a prize.
Traditionally, a fire drum is a 44-gallon drum with axe holes knocked in for air, but for the bonfire night the drums are “hotted up”. They are cut up, welded and punched to make functional works of art.
The fire drums aren’t the only attraction, the bonfire night team has planned live music by Bruce Halter, fireworks, jumping castle, raffle and prizes and, of course, a giant bonfire.
The Killarney Bonfire Night is supported by Killarney Lions Club, Killarney Polocrosse Club, Killarney Memorial Aged Care Auxiliary, and the Killarney Rural Fire Brigade and is a fundraiser for Killarney Memorial Aged Care. It is also an official event of the Jumpers and Jazz in July Festival.
The Killarney event organisers need volunteers to help out as drum hosts, catering, set up and clean up. If you are able to help out this great community event, call 0408 248 128.
