James Hardy was employed on the Maryland Run and on the 4th April 1870, he, his bride-to-be, George Reeves and Caroline Stoddard (nee Hardy) rode all the way to Tenterfield to get married. They broke the journey home by spending the night at Jenner’s Half Way Hotel. This was their honeymoon of one night only.
