SOTE celebrates milestone with fun-filled day

SOTE celebrated its 40-year anniversary on Saturday, with past and current students and teachers in attendance.

Past parents, students and teachers were united with the School of Total Education’s (SOTE) present cohort at its 40th Anniversary event in Warwick on Saturday.

SOTE principal Shane Power said he could not have wished for a better day.

“We had several hundred people attend to enjoy the displays and presentations and the wonderful food prepared by the school community,” Shane said.

“The children loved the games and the open mic live music was great – the stalls were also popular.”

The strength of the SOTE community was highlighted as teachers and parents, past and present, joined together to serve guests lunch that included the fabled chocolate pudding – evoking memories for past students.

Federal Education Minister, The Hon Jason Clare, sent a video message presented by Assistant Minister Senator Anthony Chisholm, where he congratulated the school on its 40 years and acknowledged its innovative Year 9 Discovery program.

The day also included a panel discussion and presentations on the school’s 40-year history.
