River Stewart dominated the 10-years age group breaking four records including one set 21-years ago at the Warwick East State School Inter-house swimming carnival at WIRAC on Friday.
Stewart, swimming for Quinn house, produced some eye-catching swims to break the four long-standing records including the boys Freestyle event -set back in 2001. Coming in at a time of 18.80 seconds over the 25 metres, he smashed the existing record of 20.34., Stewart smashed the existing record of 20.34 set in 2001.
His record-breaking performance didn’t stop there with the young swimmer also winning the Breaststroke in 29.57 (record formerly 32.74), Butterfly in 29.63 (record formerly 31.35) and the backstroke in 23.33 eclipsing the 2012 record of 21.94 to secure the 10 years boys title.
The only other record to tumble on the day went to Michaela Kynaston from Harwod house in the 11yr Girls Butterfly bettering the 2009 record of 26.22 with a swim of 22.08.
The Overall House winner at the end of the competition with 679 points was Harwood House, well
ahead of second placed Quinn (488) and Garland (418).
