Jury returns partial verdict in McVeigh trail

Prominent Warwick stock agent George McVeigh's has been found guilty of two counts of sexual assault and one count of assault with intent to rape after a five day trial in the District Court.

Prominent Warwick stock agent George McVeigh has been found not guilty of rape and attempted rape, and guilty of two counts of sexual assault and one count of assault with intent to rape after a five day trial in the District Court.

McVeigh was found not guilty of rape and attempted rape, but guilty of the alternate charges of sexual assault and assault with intent to rape respectively.

McVeigh faced six charges in total.

He was charged with four counts of sexual assault, one count of rape with an alternate charge of sexual assault, and one count of attempted rape with an alternate charge of assault with intent to rape.

One of sexual assault charges was dropped in the course of the trial.

The jury is still deliberating on two counts of sexual assault.
