Waste service back in action

Southern Downs residents will have noted that their scheduled waste and recycling wheelie bin services were missed due to the flooding and road closures.

JJ Richards are working to ensure all waste and recycling bins are collected as quickly as possible, but are asking the public to please remain patient, and to leave your bins on the footpath (do not take them back into your yard). JJ Richards will be collecting them within the next couple of days. The following is a list of when areas are expected to be serviced:

Yangan, Emuvale, Tannymoral & Killarney – to be collected by Wednesday afternoon (normal collection day was Monday)

Allora – to be collected by Wednesday afternoon (normal collection day was Monday)

Mt Tabor and a small section behind the Caltex Truck Stop – to be collected by Wednesday afternoon (normal collection day was Monday)

Leslie Dam – to be collected Wednesday (normal collection day Tuesday)

Hendon – to be collected by Thursday afternoon (normal collection day was Tuesday).

The Warwick and Stanthorpe Waste Facilities are operating as per usual. The Killarney Waste Transfer Station will be open tomorrow, which is in addition to normal operating hours, to cater for the increase in waste from the floods.

For residents in all other smaller communities of the region, all waste transfer stations will be re-opening as usual from Friday.Concil has waived all disposal fees for flood waste.

If you require assistance with your flood cleanup phone the Local Disaster Management call centre on 4661 0300.
