Covid a blessing for Tannymorel Hall renovations

Tannmorel Hall is fully operational again after several facelifts in recent years.

Covid restrictions proved kind to the Tannymorel Hall Committee, who used the time to apply for grants and carry out major renovations.

And now after months of work the most recent renovation project is finished, according to Tanny Hall president Margaret Armstrong.

“I’m pleased to announce the completion of a round of renovations to the Tannymorel Hall, Oak Street Tannymorel, just in time for the Tanny Trivia Night on Saturday 4 February,” she said.

“Competition will be up to our usual standards despite the Covid hiatus.”

Mrs Armstrong said the Covid restrictions actually had one good side effect.

“They allowed us to do renovations,” she explained.

“These started with much needed repairs and the painting of the hall interior.

“This was funded jointly through Drought Recovery Funding through the Southern Downs Regional Council and Federal Government. Then the exterior of the hall was painted through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund. Now the roof has been painted through the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.”

She said the Tanny Hall Committee and members were very grateful for all the assistance provided by the Southern Downs Regional Council, the Federal Government, the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.

“We feel that the Tanny Hall is in good repair and up to a high standard for the future,” Mrs Armstrong said.

“We cater to the community for hire for family events, reunions, weddings and gatherings.” She said the hall was now back in business and ready to be used again.
