Young Farmer challenge

This year we are re-introducing the Young Farmers Challenge at the Warwick Show in the past it has gone by various names. But this year it will be Australian Young Farmers Challenge. This will take place on the Saturday night of the show alongside the Rodeo.

The competition is open to teams of four people, teams must have at least one representative from each gender between the ages 18-35 years. Each team will have the same challenges to complete and the team who is the safely completes all the challenges in the fastest time is our winner!

Young farmers from around our area showcase their expertise in a series of on-farm challenges showcasing the depth of knowledge and technical skills required in agriculture today. These challenges can be anything from animal handling to fencing, driving tractors, putting out fires, first aid, heavy lifting, and transport challenges.

We have put our own spin on the Challenge this year we are running the competition with 9 challenges and a 10th bonus one. The tenth one is for the bravest and toughest farmers out there, for bonus points and a shot at winning the Ironman/Ironwoman challenge, one team member can enter the Bullock Ride. To enter the Rodeo events this can be done through NRA (National Rodeo Association). Check out their website for more details.

The winners of the Young Farmers Challenge then are offered the opportunity to compete at the State Finals at Ekka. Then once a year, each state comes together to battle it out for the title of Australian Young Farmer Challenge champions.

The Australian Young Farmer Challenge is a great way for Young Famers to network and engage with other passionate farmers and industry leaders from across our area. For us it’s a way for our region to celebrate, support and recognise Warwick’s future leaders in Agriculture.

We have some awesome prizes and prize to be won in this challenge, so grab some mates and have a crack at the Warwick Young Famers Challenge. For more information and to enter please email infor@warwickrodeo.com.au
