Line Dancers from Pottsville, Ballina, the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Toowoomba and Childers have all gone back home now, putting their feet up after a marathon dance session in Warwick last Saturday.

The event, at St Mark’s Hall in Grafton Street, attracted 60 dancers and dozens of waves of spectators who breezed in and out in groups throughout the day to watch the sets and listen to the music.

The event was organized by one of Queensland’s top line dancing teachers Jenny Heffernen who runs the Warwick Line Dancing Club.

“It was a real drawcard for Warwick,” Jenny said.

“Most of the dancers arrived on the Friday and booked into their motels. A lot of them stayed on all day Sunday to see the attractions of the Southern Downs.

“As for me, I just needed to go home and put my feet up!”

The aim was to do 100 dances but they fell short by just five, clocking 95 different numbers.

The dancers all dressed for the colour theme of mauve, silver and white.

Jenny praised the St Mark’s Hall.

“That floor is so beautiful to dance on. It is really well-sprung and very good on the legs,” she said.

She also thanked the team of volunteers who helped stage the event.

“It was a real community effort,” she said.

Our photographer Chris Munro was on hand to capture the event.
