Who would have thought that doing good could be so much fun?

For the 70 people who have left their ordinary life behind for six days to have a ball in the Variety 4WD Adventure, taking the road less travelled hasn’t only been about getting their cars off-road for some adventure, it has also meant spreading goodwill and money wherever they go. It’s a feel-good adventure that raises money for children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.

From Coffs Harbour in New South Wales to Lamington National Park in the hinterland behind the Gold Coast, they’ve not only injected cash into the towns where they have stayed, but also given a sizeable donation to help a group within each town.

They spent their overnight stay in Warwick at the Horse and Jockey Hotel Motel and while they were there, presented a cheque for $6,380 to Warwick Girl Guides.

The money is to help the Girl Guides’ effort supporting local and remote young women who are living with disabilities or doing it tough following the recent droughts then flooding. The grant will help provide laptops, projectors, speakers and sports equipment for their enjoyment.

The next morning they were off on their 1400km adventure again.

Variety – the Children’s Charity 4WD Adventure, raises money for children who are sick or in need. It’s estimated the trip is worth $120,000 in donations and spending to the rural NSW and Queensland towns visited by the convoy.
