Warwick Water Rats are still chasing their first win after three rounds of the Bill Flamseed Cup Rugby Union competition going down again at the weekend.

The Rats had a much-improved game from their game against the Frilly’s but in a very physical game the South Burnett Thrashers still proved to be too strong, winning 36-5 win.

Michael Cahill scored the Rats only try at the end of the first half after a powerful run off the back of a well-constructed maul. It was Cahill first try in the Rats jersey.

Warwick halfback Moape Vosavakadua backed up his performance last week with some great defence and consistent passing.

Jesse Bohm and Ross Murray both played adding some great defensive play and intensity around the ruck. It was Jesse Bohm’s first run in senior rugby, and he was certainly not out of place.

The Rat’s player of the game was fullback Mason Paaka. Another newcomer to the club, Mason, made some great tackles in cover defence saving certain tries. He looked dangerous whenever he had the ball in hand.

This weekend the Rats head to the Fish Tank, Condamine for a Round One rematch against the Condamine Cods.
