A raceday like no other

The Picnic Races are on their way.

The whips will be cracking and the fillies and colts will be dressed in their finery at Allman Park for the 128th running of the Warwick Picnic Races on 17 June.

The meeting is a little over a month away the Warwick Turf Club is busy fielding inquiries from the public and owners and trainers about one of the most popular events on the Warwick racing and social calendar.

The club has programmed a five event race card and the Bookies ring will be operating as well as the TAB for the Picnic meeting, a race day like no other.

The five local races will be sponsored by Warwick Automotive, Southern Downs Ag, Grove Juice, Ergon Energy and Lessons Learnt Consulting. Nominations for the meeting close on Tuesday, 13 June 13 at 11am.

The popular Fashions on the Field competitions for Best Dressed Lady, Man and Couple return with the winners of each category receiving cash prizes. Time to start organising those race day outfits.

The club reports there has been plenty of early interest in bookings for the Kidszone Australia Trackside Pavilion. Tickets for the pavilion are $60pp. The Pavilion is an 18y+ only area. It is BYO food and drink however hot and cold platters can be pre ordered from Top Paddock Catering. The pre-sale platters will be available for pick up from the kitchen /canteen area.

If you miss a spot in the Pavilion, then you can always book to party outside on the lawn.

The eastern end of the Allman Park course is fully licenced (BYO food and drink are not permitted in this area. Under 18’s supervised by adults are most welcome in this area.

General admission is $10pp, kids 17 and under are free.

The bars and canteen / kitchen will be operating, and Smooth Talk will be providing entertainment after the last race (from 5pm-9pm) for the stayers.
