Connecting over breakfast

The Warwick Chamber of Commerce’s Breakfast Connect morning was held at The Dairy Lounge last week.

With its AGM done and dusted last month, it’s now full steam ahead with a raft of commitments for the organisation.

Last week’s guest speaker was ACCIONA Energia’s Maria Baker, who gave members ideas about opportunities available at the MacIntyre Wind Farm including the tender processes, community engagement and employment opportunities.

The next event for members was Business at Dusk at Andersens Carpets scheduled for last night (17 May).

These events give the local business community the opportunity to network and collaborate and to also showcase their businesses.

In other news, the Chamber’s Facebook page is getting a workout at the moment, with posts every day this month. As part of Small Business Month, the Chamber is promoting a business a day for 30 days.

Finishing off the month will be a collaboration between the Warwick Chamber of Commerce and Skye Consultancy Studio to deliver a newly created event, Regional Connections, on Friday next week (26 May). Skye Consultancy Studio owner Teilah Mckelvey said the event had come about from seeing all the amazing events hosted in Toowoomba and Brisbane and wanting the same thing for Warwick. Teilah has invited a great collection of guest speakers from a variety of different fields to offer inspiration and insight, so it will be a not-to-be-missed event starting at 5.30pm at St Mark’s Hall.

Guests will include Isa Rodeo CEO Natalie Flecker, who has run a successful event in Outback Australia year after year and now has a new addition in the Road to Rodeo. Also attending will be Dallas Davidson, a Killarney girl at heart who is the Head of Marketing and Events from Towri Sheep Cheese and whose family has diversified its agritourism business and has a thriving business in the Scenic Rim. The final guest speaker is local photographer Renee Mulcahy who has a booming photography business and travels across Australia to photograph weddings and special family moments.

Teilah said she had opted for a Q&A panel so the networking event would have freedom for open conversation and engagement.

Local author Susan Mackie will be there to read an excerpt from her latest book ‘The Bee Whisperer’ and Southern Downs Catering will provide food that will be included in the ticket price.
