Booklet for wellbeing on the land

The RFDS booklet.

Natural disasters, droughts, financial stress and geographic isolation are some of the challenges faced by people in regional and rural Queensland.

These adversities can have a significant effect not only on families but also on entire communities.

Despite that, the impact on mental health and wellbeing can be either overlooked or not addressed properly because of remoteness and lack of supply, as accessing appropriate services can be more challenging than in urban areas.

To help, the Royal Flying Doctor Service has developed a new booklet, ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing on the Land’.

This resource has been funded by a grant provided by Thankful4Farmers and aims to provide support to people who are struggling – and to break down the barriers that sometimes prevent people from seeking help.

You can download the booklet at www.flyingdoctor.org.au/qld/what-we-do/mental-health/mental-health-and-wellbeing-land/ or register to be sent a copy of the book by emailing outback@rfdsqld.com.au.
