Snowflakes in Stanthorpe

It’s not a festival without music – and you won’t have to miss a beat at Snowflakes in Stanthorpe this year. With multiple stages operating each day, there is bound to be a band with just the right beat to start your toes tapping and maybe even get you dancing! Let’s be honest, you will probably be doing the Jack Frost Twist with the predicted cold weather forecast!

On Friday (30 June) there will be two stages downtown – the main stage at the Piazza and the other located between Mitre 10 and O’Mara’s Hotel. You can catch local band Smooth Talk and the talented Levi X & Dad along with local legends the Graniteers. To admire some really chill art, watch the Mitre 10 Ice Sculpture Challenge or laugh your socks off (not advised – your toes might get cold!) at the antics of Larrikin Puppets.

The Snowgrounds on Saturday and Sunday (1 and 2 July) will have an indoor and an outdoor stage as well so you are sure to be entertained all day long. Entertainers across the two days are Nine Year Sister, Haystack Mountain Hermits, Levi X & Dad, Two Wheel Drive, Smooth Talk and Side Effects. Make sure you check out the program online for times and stages, and we highly recommend finding a cosy spot to nestle in and watch the entertainment while you take a well-earned break between activities.

It’s really going to be snow much fun this Snowflakes in Stanthorpe from 30 June to 2 July. With the forecast for consistent minus temperatures, we might even be on snow watch! But never fear, the snow doesn’t have to fall out of the sky for us to have that chilly white stuff. You can still make a snowman and go tobogganing in the Snowfields thanks to our local snow angels, Taylor’s Produce, Granite Belt Fruit Freighters, Lindsay Transport, Wrenco Produce and Featherstone Bobcat Hire.

Don’t forget to invite the relatives out for the festival too. With accommodation fully booked, we’d love to see extended family come home to the Granite Belt these school holidays to support Snowflakes in Stanthorpe. Tickets are available from our website at www.snowflakesinstanthorpe.com.au.
