Save energy and the environment

EnergySQ program helping farmers save energy and limit carbon emissions.

The Queensland Farmers Federation (QFF) has created EnergySQ, a program to help farmers in the Southern Downs and Goondiwindi Regional Council areas understand and manage their on-farm energy consumption.

The program will gather and collate energy bills from electricity and fuels to determine the farm’s energy-related emissions. There will be a walk-through assessment to look for energy and greenhouse-saving opportunities and will identify emissions from other on-farm operations before providing an energy and carbon action plan.

This free program can be taken by any farmers in the Southern Downs or Goondiwindi region and can either be taken individually or in a cluster.

A cluster is where a group of farms work their way through the program together and a series of workshops will be conducted to help navigate the process with everyone involved.

QFF has partnered with Acciona Energia Australia to fund the delivery of this project and this program is part of both organisations’ Carbon Savers Initiative.
