Warwick Police seeking quality applicants

The Warwick Police Watchhouse.

Are you interested in joining the police force and contributing to the safety of the community?

Warwick police are actively searching for dedicated individuals interested in joining the police force as assistant watchhouse officers. These officers play a crucial role in collaboration with sworn police officers to ensure the smooth operation of the watchhouse, where individuals suspected of a crime are temporarily held under arrest.

The responsibilities of Assistant Watchhouse Officers include monitoring persons in custody, keeping accurate records, and escorting persons in custody to various Courts, correctional centres or other watchhouses.

Training will be provided at the QPS Academy followed by a period of on-the-job training in the Darling Downs District.

Officer in charge of Warwick Police Station, Cameron Slater said these positions are only relatively new here in Warwick.

“They will allow us to process persons in custody more efficiently as well as to release sworn officers to more strategic activities within the Warwick area,” Sgt Slater said.

This opportunity presents a unique chance for anyone interested in law enforcement to contribute to the community and make a positive impact. The Warwick Police Station encourages candidates to apply and become part of the team.
