Friday, 4 August marked a significant milestone for Warwick as the renowned trucking company, Brown and Hurley, officially opened its doors.

Southern Downs Mayor Vic Pennisi acknowledged this development as a crucial step forward for the town, highlighting the numerous advantages that a trucking company can leverage from Warwick’s strategic location in South Queensland.

Mayor Pennisi said that businesses like Brown and Hurley are drawn to Warwick due to its access to major commercial opportunities.

“Our access to the port of Brisbane and major airports is unparalleled, and when coupled with our agriculture, retail and manufacturing sectors with access to affordable land gives us a competitive advantage that continues to be discovered,” Mayor Pennisi said.

Established in 1946, Brown and Hurley have built a reputation for distributing high-quality trucks and trailers. However, their focus at this new location will primarily be on supplying spare parts for their customer base.

Mayor Pennisi expressed his belief that Warwick has been a well-kept secret for far too long. As the town’s brand continues to gain recognition, appreciation, and trust, more individuals and businesses will have the confidence to choose Southern Downs as an ideal place to live, work, play, and stay.

Looking ahead, Mayor Pennisi eagerly anticipates Warwick’s future as the region continues to flourish as a major transport hub.
