Q&A with Stanthorpe Y centre manager Dylan Politch

With the opening of the Stanthorpe Pool at The Y, we thought it would be fit to ask the Centre Manager, Dylan Politch, for this week’s Q&A, let’s see what he said!

What’s something people may not know about you?

People may not know that I have represented Queensland in futsal 5 times and have been picked to play for Australia twice.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I love spending my free time fishing or going to the gym.

What is a message you would like to tell your younger self?

A message that I would tell my younger self is; you should always take the bigger opportunity rather than the small one.

Who is an inspiration to you?

I have two inspirational people and they are my Dad and Mum. The amount of hard work they have done to support me has encouraged and inspired me to take the manager role here at the YMCA. I have always wanted to follow in their footsteps.

Which six guests, dead or alive, would be invited to your ultimate dinner party?

The six guests I would invite to my dinner party dead or alive are

1. Courtney (my girlfriend)

2. Ryan Reynolds

3. Mohammed Salah

4. Adam Sandler

5. David Guetta

6. Alan Walker

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

The best advice I have received would have to be that a mistake is nothing to be afraid of but an opportunity to learn and grow.

What are you most passionate about?

I am very passionate about fitness in the community, this is why I love my job. I believe everyone should have an opportunity to get healthy and fit as well as have fun and meet new friends. Being active is key for making healthier choices and a positive mind.

What is your biggest achievement?

My biggest achievement is being in the role I am at the Y, I am always challenging myself to make bigger achievements and grow. I am always learning no matter what and always finish a day learning something new.
