Preparing for Christmas

At gathering of the Allora and District Day For Girls group on 30 October saw another 60 kits packed for future distribution.

We are doing this so if there is a short notice request for kits, then we have some on hand. Another smaller pack of 25 was completed earlier this week which is going with a Lecturer and midwifery students from Griffith University Toowoomba to PNG.

The next gathering will be on Monday 27 November at 9am. This will be our Christmas break up and the aim will be to complete our tasks by mid morning and then have a hearty morning tea. Gabrielle Samson will be our guest speaker.

For 2024, Allora Days for Girls will conduct the multi-draw raffle at the Heritage Festival event over the Australia Day long weekend. Any individuals or business who would like to contribute to our raffle, please get in touch. This is our major fundraising event for the year. We will most likely assemble the goods for the raffle in mid January.

Gatherings are held at the Function Room, MacKillop House, Warwick St, Allora, next to St Patricks Church, entry via McKillop Lane. The meetings are currently being held on the last Monday of the month due to other hall commitments. We would like to thank the Parish committee for allowing us to utilise the function room. Please park in Warwick Street. Coffee and tea provided. Please bring along something for morning tea. We hope to see you then.

Thank you – Allora and district Days for Girls Executive team – Heather Goonan mobile 0434 907 904, Lenore Wissemann mobile 0428 973 432, Shirley Cornhill and Kaylene Williams or email: alloraqld@daysforgirls.org.
