The upcoming Rabbits Eat Lettuce Festival set to grace Warwick this Easter isn’t just about good vibes; it’s also set to bolster the local community with a slew of benefits.

With grants, local discounts, and an influx of visitors set to stimulate the local economy, the festival promises a significant impact.

The festival director and production manager Erik Lamir said the Southern Downs Regional Council recognises the number of people the festival will bring to the region where they will spend money in the town and therefore are happy to support it.

“We are really excited and grateful to be working in the region and we are wanting to become part of the local economy and culture so we also want locals to get involved,” Lamir said.

As an enticement for locals to join in, Warwick residents can enjoy discounted tickets by sending proof of residency to info@rabbitseatlettuce.com.au

Also, Lamir noted that as the festival expands, so do the opportunities for grants.

“In 2024, we’ll be offering Gold grants of $3000, Silver grants of $1500, and Bronze grants of $500. We invite community nonprofit organisations to apply, detailing how the funds will benefit both the community and their organisation,“ Lamir said.

This decision reflects the festival committee’s desire for Rabbits Eat Lettuce to integrate seamlessly into the community fabric.

“We’ve allocated a portion of the event budget to give back to the community. Even if residents don’t attend the event directly, they may still see its benefits elsewhere,“ Lamir said.
