The Warwick Show and Rodeo Society has been caught in a litigation battle with a security firm over the cost of contracted services provided at the 2023 rodeo.

In a statement to Warwick Today, the rodeo committee said it was disputing the price of an invoice received from Town & Country Security (T&CS).

“We have paid the quoted price we received to do the security at the 2023 Rodeo, this price is over 40 per cent more than we have paid for security in the past,” the statement said.

“We are disputing the extra cost of the invoice.”

T&CS has taken public measures to push for full payment, contacting sponsors and media outlets with claims that the society is being sued for not paying its bills.

However, the Rodeo Society’s committee clarified that, while it is not currently being sued, the matter might still be resolved in court.

A representative from T&CS was contacted for a comment but did not respond by deadline.
