A Warwick mother has her air conditioning plans sorted for the summer after scoring $400,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The lucky local was one of 13 division one winners in the draw held on Saturday, 5 October, with each winner taking home $401,209.07.
“I’m shaking!” the ecstatic woman exclaimed when she received the call from The Lott confirming her life-changing win.
“I only just found out, and I can’t believe it! This is more money than I’ve ever had in my whole life.“
The overjoyed winner shared that her lucky numbers, a combination of family birthdates, had finally paid off after years of playing them in the Gold Lotto.
“I usually check my ticket first thing on Sunday morning, but this time I got distracted,” she explained. “When I remembered to check it, I had to ask my family to double-check – I couldn’t believe what I was seeing!“
While she’s still deciding what to do with her winnings, one thing is certain: “I won’t worry about turning on the air conditioner so much this summer!”
The winning ticket, a marked System 8 entry, was purchased from Hynes Newsagency on Palmerin Street, Warwick.
The winning numbers in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw 4509 were 13, 30, 18, 24, 27, and 15, with supplementary numbers 41 and 26.
