2025 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award applications now open

The AgriFutures Australia Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant is open to provide professional development support to rural women to bring their idea, cause or vision to life.

Applications are now open for the 2025 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award, with the deadline for submissions set for 9 October 2024. The award celebrates and supports Australian women who are making a positive impact in rural industries and communities, empowering them to further develop their skills and leadership.

The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award offers a platform for women to showcase their ideas, causes, or visions, with a focus on fostering innovation in rural industries, businesses, and communities.

This year’s Queensland winner, tuna entrepreneur Kate Lamason, represented the state at the national Rural Women’s Award gala in Canberra, highlighting the importance of female leadership in agriculture and rural sectors.

The winner of the Queensland Rural Women’s Award will receive a $15,000 grant to help advance their project and will go on to represent Queensland at the national awards, where they have a chance to win an additional $20,000 grant.

This year, the Queensland Country Women’s Association has also joined as a state sponsor, offering an additional $2,000 grant to finalists. Finalists will also benefit from professional development opportunities and access to the Rural Women’s Award alumni network.

In addition to the main award, AgriFutures Australia also offers the Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant, which provides up to $7,000 for women who may not yet be ready for the full award but are eager to pursue professional development.

This grant aims to help rural women bring their ideas to life and drive change in their communities.

With Westpac as a platinum sponsor for over 15 years, the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award continues to support courageous and inclusive leadership, ensuring that women in rural Australia have the opportunity to thrive and make a meaningful impact.
