THE weekend’s Woodenbong Trail Ride was an outstanding success, with a large complement of juniors, while the number of registered seniors had to be capped.
“Stunning results for this recognised and prized signature event has set the benchmark for all other
events,” Joyce Marsh said.
Mrs Marsh said the weekend’s Woodenbong Trail Ride run by Ray Buchanan of Australian Dirt
Bike Adventures (ADBA) and sponsored by Yamaha drew 138 juniors, aged four to 16 years along with the capped numbers of 500 senior riders.
“The juniors area is organised and exciting and offers opportunities to the kids that would not be available to them in any other situation,” she said.
Mrs Marsh said the hugely successful weekend turned the showground into tent city with more 1000 exhilarated visitors and the whole community benefiting.
“Woodenbong Progress Association support and organise the event and with the many, many hand-on volunteers, the village goes into full swing supplying all the food and refreshments and necessary operations for the visitors,” she said.
Rain on Thursday settled the dust and made riding conditions perfect. Trail rides through the beautiful forest areas of Woodenbong district consisting of three trails which range to 60km catering for all levels of riders from Pee-Wee to full bikes and quads.
Mrs Marsh said the event action was strictly monitored, trails are swept for safety purposes and a “no rego, no ride policy” and capped numbers ensure rider enjoyment.
“ All safety facilities are on hand to present a professional outcome,” she said.
