Last chance for poets

ASPIRING poets have until Friday 28 February to have their work permanently on display in the centre of Tenterfield.
Tenterfield Shire Council will be installing new interpretative signs as part of the Rouse Street upgrade.
The historical personalities J F Thomas, J H Reid and E R Whereat will each have an interpretive panel with a poem.
A competition to find three original poems to go on the permanent interpretative signs in Rouse Street closes tomorrow.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for poets to have their work featured as a permanent part of the Tenterfield main street”, Tenterfield Shire Mayor Peter Petty said.
The competition is free to enter and each winning poem will receive a donated prize of $200 as well as the honour of being a feature of Tenterfield’s main street.
The winning poems will be read at the Oracles of the Bush Poets Brawl breakfast in Tenterfield on Sunday 6 April 2O14.
Entry forms and the competition brief are available from Tenterfield Shire Council’s office at 247 Rouse, Street, Tenterfield or online at www.oraclesofthebush.com or tenterfield. nsw. gov. au.
