Redbacks rally for big season

There’s a real sense of excitement building around the Redbacks as they head into the new season, with plenty happening both on and off the field.

This year, there’s a real push to get more women involved in the game. While the Redbacks have been building towards a women’s side, players will be joining with the South Toowoomba Bombers for the upcoming season. It’s a great opportunity for local women to get involved, be part of a team environment, and enjoy the game in a supportive and social setting.

The club is encouraging anyone who has thought about giving football a go to come forward. Whether you’ve played before or are starting from scratch, there’s a place for you. It’s not just about competition, it’s about being part of something, meeting new people and enjoying being involved in a local club. Training is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm at Redbacks Oval on Jackie Howe Drive, and new faces are always welcome to come along and give it a try.

That same message extends beyond the playing group. The Redbacks rely heavily on volunteers to keep things running, especially on game days. From helping in the canteen to assisting behind the scenes, there are plenty of ways to lend a hand, and every bit of support makes a difference.

Game days themselves are a big part of what the club is about. They’re relaxed, welcoming and a great excuse to get out, catch up with friends and support local sport. Whether you’re there every week or just drop in now and then, you’re always made to feel part of it.

There are also a couple of key events to look forward to later in the season, with Old Boys Day set to return on the 11th July and Ladies Day on the 1st August . These days are always well supported and offer a chance to celebrate the people who make the club what it is, from long-time contributors to those just getting involved.

At its heart, the Redbacks is a community club. It’s built on people showing up, getting involved and supporting each other, both on and off the field.

As the season gets underway, the invitation is open. If you’ve been thinking about playing, volunteering or just coming down for a look, now is the time. Head along to Redbacks Oval and see what it’s all about. There’s always room for more people to be part of the club.
