October is a month of appreciation. Here’s three ways you can express yours this month.
1. Mental Health Week – Starting Monday 10 October and following on from ’R U OK’ day, we’re asked to look after our mental health by showing awareness, creating a sense of belonging and connecting with others. It’s important to reach out to neighbours, friends, family and the community by inviting them on an outing to enable a reciprocal of sharing.
2. World Teachers Day – Friday 28 October
Acknowledging the fantastic work teachers do in our community is important. Over the past few years they have showed resilience in the face of uncertainty to help give our kids the best possible future. I hear they still like to eat apples!
3. Boss’s Day – After Sunday 16 October
This is a day to show appreciation to employers and focus on building a positive bond between bosses and employees.
