Gentle soul stands out in a crowd

When Ark asked Dan’s foster mum, a long-time foster carer and dog trainer, about this lovely boy, her first comment was: “Dan is a magnificent looking greyhound and he’s an all-round nice dog”.

“He’s a large boy and will definitely stand out in the crowd. Despite his size, he’s a gentle soul and lovely his cuddles. He thoroughly enjoys human company and is a bit of a smoocher.

“Active and dog-friendly, he walks well on a lead, but can be a bit strong if he sees a canine he wants to say hello to.

“Dan doesn’t jump fences. He has no food aggression. He travels well in the car and he’s house-trained.”

Dan would make an ideal canine companion and would be best suited to a home where someone is around most of the time. He’s accustomed to living inside and outside.

A typical greyhound, he’s a bit of a lounge lizard and loves to snooze his way through the day, although he does loves a vigorous daily walk and a zoomie or two.

Dan is an ex-racer so is not suitable to homes with small dogs, pocket pets and cats. Also, despite his lovely temperament, he’s probably too big, strong and fast to be a suitable playmate for under 12s.

As always, secure fencing is essential, although Dan is not a fence jumper.

He is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.

If you are interested in meeting Dan, please complete the online application form at and ensure that you include photos of your yard and fencing.
