Generous donation from MP James Lister

The Warwick and District Lapidary Club had the pleasure of hosting local MP James Lister recently.

Lapidary is a unique hobby in that it is the practice of shaping stones, minerals, or gemstones into decorative items such as Cabochons, engraved gems, and faceted designs, giving members many opportunities to learn about minerals, gemstones, and different stones such as petrified wood, opal, agate, jasper and many more. We also do Flat Lapping, Silversmithing and Faceting.

The running of the club which provides outings, social interaction and teaching many and varied lapidary skills to people of all ages. Maintaining and replacing machinery needs ongoing funding, while the club does raise its own money any ongoing assistance is very much appreciated.

When Mr Lister accepted the invitation to see where we are and what the club does, he found it very interesting, knowledgeable and an asset to the community.

One of the necessities for the club was to update its computer and printer, so the donation of $500 from Mr Lister and with the support from Warwick Betta Home Living, this was achieved. It has made it much easier for the club with correspondence.

We thank you very much for your contribution to our club. Please receive these thanks from all our members.
