Q&A with Alex Dwan

This week’s Q&A is with Alex Dwan who, while being a part of Wade Real Estate, is also a big part of the Sports scene in Warwick. Let’s get to know him better.

What’s something people may not know about you?

I am a bit of a nerd, I love all things Star Wars, Marvel and DC.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I like to spend my free time at the gym, spending time with my mates and going out on my motorbike.

What is your favourite sport and why?

That is a very difficult one to answer as I love all the different sports I play and all the teams I play in but I would say my favourite sport would be soccer. Soccer has been a part of my life since I was a little one and I thoroughly enjoy not only the game and the way it is played but the teammates and the whole community down at the WDFA.

What is a message you would like to tell your younger self?

I would tell my younger self to enjoy the ride, you never know what will happen.

Who is an inspiration to you?

Again a very tough one as there are a lot of inspirational people out there but for me, it would have to be Steve Irwin. The way he was so passionate about what he did, had the ability to captivate an audience and the fact that he was always himself no matter what was happening or where he was is truly inspiring.

Which six guests, dead or alive, would be invited to your ultimate dinner party?

The six would be Russell Coight, Daniel Sloss, Gianluigi Buffon, Matt and Jack from The Inspired Unemployed and Steve Irwin

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

The best piece of advice would be to enjoy life and don’t always be in a rush, you never know when your time is up, so do what makes you happy.

What are you most passionate about?

I would say I am most passionate about getting involved with your club in any way you can, it doesn’t have to be a massive contribution, but every little bit helps.

What is your favourite part of your involvement within your club?

My favourite part of being involved would have to be coaching a junior team with Matt Carey. The way you develop a bond with the team and get to know each individual person is truly something special to me.

What is your biggest achievement?

My biggest achievement would be winning four separate grand finals this year with cricket, touch football, senior men’s soccer and my junior soccer team all cleaning up was something pretty special to have happen all in the one year.
