Probus kicks off another year of fun

The Warwick Combined Probus Club has been busy celebrating friendship and community spirit, with a series of exciting events to brighten the retirement days of its members.

The club wrapped up 2024 with a joyous Christmas luncheon, filled with laughter, entertainment, and a traditional festive meal served by the capable staff at Churches of Christ. The venue was beautifully decorated, adding to the holiday cheer.

Members kicked off the New Year in a relaxed setting with a casual barbecue breakfast at Leslie Park, made possible by the dedicated efforts of club volunteers.

The first planned outing for the year, a coach trip to Brisbane’s Lyric Theatre to see the musical Sister Act, had to be postponed due to Cyclone Alfred. However, the club’s social organisers have since arranged an alternative trip to Clifton Theatre for a screening of the Sister Act film starring Whoopi Goldberg. The outing, expected to take place in May, will include a pub lunch and a surprise tour.

The club’s annual meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 2 April. Those interested in attending are encouraged to book in advance for catering purposes. New members are always welcome to join the fun.
